Hand and PenFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 29, 2022

The Town of Stratford has received a written decision from the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC) on the appeal by Landfest Company Ltd. for a proposed rezoning development for Reddin Meadows from Low Density Residential Zone (R1) to Planned Unit Residential Development Zone (parcel numbers 1061175, 1061167 and 329011). Upon review of the decision, and after receiving legal advice from the Town’s solicitor, at a closed meeting Council decided to accept the decision of IRAC and will not appeal their decision.

“After careful examination of the decision,” stated Mayor Steve Ogden, “and having spent time discussing the options available to us, including seeking advice from our legal team, the decision of Town Council is that it is in the best interests of the Town to accept IRAC’s decision. While we may not agree with all the points presented, we do not believe that we would have grounds to reverse the decision made by IRAC.”
