FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 15, 2022 The Town of Stratford, with funding through the Museum Development Grant from the Community Museums Association of PEI, unveiled a third interpretive panel. The latest interpretive panel tells the wartime story of an 80-year-old accident which claimed the lives of seven individuals in Stratford on January 12, 1942.

Media Release: Town of Stratford Preparing for a Return to In-Person Remembrance Day Service

The Town of Stratford is pleased to be once again planning an in-person Remembrance Day ceremony for Stratford residents, family, friends, and visitors. The Town’s ceremony to honour veterans at the Annual Stratford Remembrance Day Service will take place Friday, November 11th beginning at 10:45 a.m. at Stratford Town Centre, 234 Shakespeare Drive.

Evelyn Meader Park includes play equipment and forested area which has natural trails throughout.

For Immediate Release: June 28, 2022 Today the Town of Stratford released the results of its 11th Annual Resident Survey. Once again this year residents were asked their opinion on topics such as health and safety, energy savings activities, environmental stewardship, satisfaction with the Town, and their knowledge of the Town’s initiatives and programs. Like previous years, a series of questions were asked on specific topics of special interest to the Town of Stratford as one-time questions.

Media Release: Kelly's Pond Watershed Restoration Update (June 21, 2022)

For Immediate Release: June 21, 2022 The Town of Stratford is pleased to be ready to begin work in the Kelly’s Pond-Moore’s Pond watershed system. As announced earlier this year, the project will work to restore the integrity of the Kelly’s Pond-Moore’s Pond watershed which is currently compromised by undersized water control structures, sediment infilling, degraded wetlands, and inadequate buffer zones. Restoring this system will mitigate the effects of extreme weather events and climate change, including increased rainfall intensity, flooding, and erosion, in addition to providing a healthy habitat for local wildlife.

At the June Stratford Town Council Meeting 12 grade five students were recognized from their artwork which was submitted for the Town’s annual water school calendar art contest. The Town of Stratford and Stratford Area Watershed Improvement Group are proud to have recently completed the 13th year of water school, also known as “Water’s Cool”, which is an annual water conservation/watershed education program for grade five students.

The Town of Stratford has received a written decision from the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC) on the appeal by Landfest Company Ltd. for a proposed rezoning development for Reddin Meadows from Low Density Residential Zone (R1) to Planned Unit Residential Development Zone (parcel numbers 1061175, 1061167 and 329011).

The Town of Stratford is pleased to announce that we have been approved for $254,088 in funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program’s (ICIP) Green Infrastructure stream for restoration of the Kelly’s Pond-Moore’s Pond watershed system, with a total project value of $346,500.
