Are you interested in contributing to our community and being part of making Stratford the best community possible?

Volunteers are the heart of our community. Stratford Town Council has established a number of committees and sub-committees to provide advice and to carry out functions and events. Apply now to be a member of a Town of Stratford committee and make a difference in our Town. All Stratford residents are eligible and encouraged to apply. No previous experience is required.

The next two year committee term is starting and applications are now open!

In 2016 Stratford Town Council established a Committee Appointment Policy to better ensure that our Town committees are representative of the broader community, and that all perspectives are considered as much as possible. The policy can be found on the Town’s website. Whether you are a current committee member, or are applying for the first time, please complete the online application by 12 noon on October 28, 2022. The next term runs from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2024. The commitment required is approximately one meeting per month for standing committees while sub-committees may have special projects or events that require additional time which varies throughout the year. At this time meetings are resuming in-person after remaining virtual throughout COVID-19 but may be required to meet virtually in the future again. Having access to technology which allows you to do so should be considered when applying. Please also note that, in accordance with our Open Government Bylaw, members of the public may attend committee meetings to observe and listen, but not to participate unless a prior request has been made and granted by the chair.
