The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

Commercial Petroleum Station Approved
Council approved an application received from The Gray Group to develop a commercial petroleum service station on a portion of parcel number 328039 (approx. 2.21 acres) located on the corner of the Trans-Canada Highway and Jubilee Drive, subject to the conditions of the resolution.

Public Meeting Called
A public meeting has been called for July 27, 2022 at 7:00pm. The purpose of this meeting is to solicit public input as the Town reviews the home occupation section of the Town of Stratford Zoning and Development Bylaw #45.

Tender Awarded
A resolution was approved awarding a tender for seven hydrants to be installed on MacKinnon Drive. The lowest bidder was Birt and MacKay Backhoe Services Ltd. who agreed to supply and install seven hydrants for a cost of $199,150.00 excluding HST, reducing the scope of the project from the original ten in order to remain within the approved capital budget.

Supplemental Capital Budget Approved
In advance of an anticipated 9-12% increase in the per unit price of the water meters used by the Town of Stratford, a supplemental capital budget of $25,000 was approved for the purchase of an additional 50 water meters.

Election Bylaw Amendment
Elections PEI have reviewed all bylaws of the municipalities they provide election services to and identified several changes. The reviewed changes proposed were accepted and approved by Stratford Town Council with second reading and adoption held.
