Senior Engagement Program Advisory Committee – Call for Volunteers!

Are you interested in contributing to our community and being part of making Stratford the best community possible?

Stratford Town Council has established a number of committees and sub-committees to provide advice and to carry out functions and events. The Town of Stratford, with funding from the federal New Horizons Program for Seniors, is developing a number of programs and online apps that will help seniors to become more involved and engaged with one another and with the community at large. The project is designed to provide opportunities for seniors to engage in community life by mentoring young families and newcomers, and connecting to other seniors to provide assistance and/or in the exchange of goods and services.

A steering committee of four to six seniors is being created to oversee the design and implementation of the program. A stipend of $25 per hour to a maximum of $250 will be provided to those who volunteer their time with the work anticipated to be completed by the end of 2019.

To apply, please print and return a copy of the application by 12 noon on Thursday, April 25, 2019.  Printed copies are available for pick up at Town of Stratford offices during office hours of Monday – Friday between 8am and 4:30pm.
