The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
Public Meeting Scheduled
A resolution was approved to schedule a public meeting for March 23, 2022 at 7:00pm. This meeting is necessary to present several text amendments to the Zoning and Development Bylaw #45 which have been identified including language to bring Child Care Facility up to date with the PEI Government’s Early Learning and Child Care Act. As well, minor text amendments are required to aid in clarification to Section 11.3.6 - Medium Density Residential Zone (R2) for lot coverage, and other text amendments bringing updated language to improve the Zoning and Development Bylaw #45. This meeting will be held with a maximum of 25 people able to attend in-person, restricted to one individual per household, with the meeting also being live-streamed and recorded.
Draft Budget Presented
The public presentation of the Town’s draft 2022/23 budget was presented on Tuesday evening through a virtual presentation platform. Residents now have until Tuesday, March 15th to view the recording and draft budget document, then respond to a brief online survey to provide their feedback. All of this information is available on the Town’s website at www.townofstratford.ca.
Proclamation
Mayor Ogden proclaimed that March 2022 be observed as “Kidney Month” in the Town of Stratford and urges all citizens to become aware of their own kidney health, to learn about the role kidneys play in their body, to know the kidney disease warnings signs to look for, and to be aware of the importance of the organ donation registry.
