We would like to thank the Province of PEI and Loblaws for this program; Michele Beaton, MLA for reaching out to us to help distribute them and to our residents for identifying themselves and others in our community who could use this assistance. We remind those in our community who may not have the supports of family, friends or neighbours and require non-medical assistance to contact the Town and identify their needs. Staff will help to access required services or goods as best we can. To make your needs known, residents are asked to reach out by email at [email protected] or by telephone at (902) 569-1995.

The Town of Stratford has been identified as a Community Champion by the Government of PEI through their Community Champions Program. Through this program the Town will have thirty (30) $100 gift certificates to Loblaw stores to distribute in our community for individuals and families who have been negatively impacted financially by the COVID-19 pandemic. Individuals may receive one card and families may receive two. To assist us in identifying those who have been affected negatively by COVID-19 and are in need of this assistance we are asking members of our community to identify themselves or to identify someone else in our community that is in need.

Please note the following program criteria:

1. Each individual/family receiving aid can only receive aid from one Community Champion.
2. Each individual/family receiving aid must respond to an email sent by the Community Champions delivery organization (in our case, Town of Stratford) to confirm the information and consent to the disclosure of their information.
3. For the month of April 2020, a single person household may receive up to $100.00 (one gift card) and a family (or household with more than one person) may receive up to $200 (two gift cards). These can only be provided by the Community Champion once all adult members of a particular household have signed the Confirmation and Consent form.

If you, or someone you know in the Town of Stratford has been negatively affected and is in need of this program please contact Robert Hughes at (902) 569-6251 or by email at [email protected] to identify the person(s), provide their contact information and have them included on the list being created. The Town is hoping to have the information gathered and distributed by April 24, 2020. In the event that there are more requests received than available funds, the Town of Stratford will reach out to the two other Community Champion organizations and provide the remaining list to them for consideration.
