Throughout the year, our utility technicians sample the Town’s water distribution and waste water treatment plant to ensure residents continue to receive the highest quality of water and waste water treatment.

In the Town’s commitment to service and keeping a sustainable environment, our sampling procedures exceed provincial standards.

2016 WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT EFFLUENT SAMPLE RESULTS.

ALLOWABLE PARAMETERS AS DEFINED BY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT ARE

 cBOD = 25 mgl (Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand)

SUSPENDED SOLIDS = 25 mgl

FECAL COLIFORM = 200 cfu / 100 Millilitres (colony forming units per 100 millilitres)

The table shows only samples collected off the discharge pipe at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Many other samples are collected throughout the system on a monthly basis to monitor the plant.

Numbers are monthly averages.  N/A=Not Available

* Denotes sludge removal in month of November
