The Town of Stratford would like to invite residents and other interested stakeholders to a Natural Areas Workshop being held January 23-24, 2017 from 8 am – 12 noon at the Stratford Town Centre. This workshop is the first step in the process of developing a natural area lens that can be used by Stratford and other communities to identify natural areas for protection, as well as tools, techniques and partnerships for the purchase, preservation and stewardship of those areas. Day 1 will consist of a wide array of short presentations on the value of natural areas, as well as offer information on tools and techniques available for acquisition and protection. Day 2 will involve facilitated collaboration to develop the natural area lens and recommend approaches for the overall protection of Stratford’s natural assets.
This workshop is free, and open to all residents and stakeholders, as well as representatives from all municipalities on PEI. The sessions will be held at the town hall in Stratford; 234 Shakespeare Drive.
Please contact Kelley Farrar, Watershed Coordinator, at 902-367-3605 for further information, or if you would like to register for one or both days.
