The following items were discussed at the regular monthly meeting of the Stratford Town Council.

Commercial Credit Cards
As the current provider for the Town of Stratford and Stratford Utility Corporation credit cards is discontinuing their business, proposals were requested from financial intuitions with four responding offering a total of ten credit products to compare. After an analysis of the points earned based on historical usage, the option recommended, and subsequently approved through resolution by Council, is for the RBC Avion with the ability to use the points earned for future council and staff travel to conferences and meetings as well as for gift cards as required.

Aintree Drive Sustainable Subdivision
An application to develop a sustainable subdivision on Aintree Drive was approved by Council. It will see approximately 6.45 acres developed including 1.62 acres (25.1% of the total area) for parkland dedication to the Town of Stratford. The proposed development includes 4 single dwellings, 2 two-unit semi-detached and 2 six-unit townhouse units for a total of 20 units on the 7 proposed lots.

Concord Properties Subdivision
Stratford Town Council approved a subdivision on parcel 393000 which is located in the Medium Density (R2) Zone. This proposed development is for 117 lots, including 72 single dwellings, 36 semi-detached and 9 three-unit townhouses, and is located in the area of Bunbury Road, Heron Drive and Squire Lane.

Official Plan Amendment
A resolution was approved to correct two conflicts created with the adoption of the new Zoning and Development Bylaw #45 regarding the definition of secondary suites in the Town of Stratford’s 2014 Official Plan. Under the new bylaw the requirement for the occupants to be related has been eliminated.

First Reading of General Amendments to Bylaw
Council held first reading to amend the Zoning and Development Bylaw #45 and correct a number of minor identified required amendments. A public meeting was held on July 24, 2019 with no comments against these amendments received.

Emergency Services Facility Name
The Town of Stratford is constructing an emergency services facility to house the RCMP, Cross Roads Rural Community Fire Company and Island EMS. The building will be officially named the “Stratford Emergency Services Centre”.
