The Town of Stratford, City of Charlottetown, and Town of Cornwall have partnered to promote Fix a Leak Week to encourage the public to find and repair leaks in their homes or businesses to help conserve water.
Fix a Leak Week will take place March 20 to 26, 2017. The week is designed to educate the public about the large quantity of water lost each year due to leaks in homes, businesses and infrastructure.
The three municipalities are running a social media campaign asking residents to post a photo or video of themselves or their family fixing a leak in their home. Participants are then entered for a chance to win a Kohler low-flow toilet, valued at $300 (donated by EMCO). The deadline to enter is March 26. The winner will be announced on social media of the three municipalities on March 27: @ChtownPE, @StratfordPEI, @CornwallRec.
Contest participants can submit their entries using any one of the following means:
1) Twitter: post a photo or video of you and/or your family fixing a leak in your home and using the hashtag #IFixedALeak
2) Facebook: post a photo or video of you/or your family fixing a leak in your home on our Be Water Friendly page
3) Email: email your photo or video to firstname.lastname@example.org
4) Drop off a photo or video to the Stratford Town Hall, City Hall in Charlottetown, or Town Hall in Cornwall
Random prize draws will take place during the week leading up to, and throughout, Fix a Leak Week through the Be Water Friendly Facebook page, which can be found at: fb.me/BeWaterFriendly. Follow the page to find out how to enter.
