Youth & Seniors

Stratford Youth Centre, 57 Bunbury Road (Cotton Park)

The Youth Centre project began in March of 1999. The project has been operating out of the Town of Stratford, and was funded through the National Strategy on Crime Prevention and Community Safety. The key focus of the project was to look for ways to begin to provide new social and recreational opportunities for youth in Stratford, and have youth become more involved in the activities of the Town.

Youth Centre has grown over the years. Business and community organization participation has increased as well as, the awareness of what the Youth Centre stands for in our community. Aside from regular fund-raising activities such as; Youth Dances, Prom Dress Consignment Sale, and Pink Shirt Day, our youth club has helped other committees and community functions;

  • Introduced the Annual Stratford Youth Volunteer Awards
  • Volunteers at all Town of Stratford Events.
  • Enter a float in the annual Gold Cup and Saucer Parade and annual Pride Parade.
  • Drama Program which produces two plays each year.
  • We also volunteer for many other special events, activities and fund raisers for recognised not-for-profit groups. We have raised thousands of dollars to make our community a better place for everyone.
  • Youth Drop In Centre at the Cotton Park for youth in grades 5 and up (ages 10+).

The membership requirement is 10 hours of volunteer service every 6 months. All volunteer hours are recorded to assist youth graduating, job seeking, and applying for Scholarships and / or Bursaries.
