Stratford Public Library Fall Program 2009

Adult Book Clubs
Second Friday of the month beginning September 11th, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
This afternoon book club is lead by Melanie Walsh-Fraser.

Last Wednesday of the month beginning September 30 th, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
This evening book club is lead by Carol Seguin.

Meet at the library for a casual discussion on topical books provided by the library . New members are welcome and no registration is required.

Junior and Young Teen Book Club
First Friday of the month  beginning October 2nd, 4:00 - 4:45 p.m.
A book club where you choose the book and chat among your peers. The group is lead by student volunteer, Sarah Seeley. New members are welcome. No registration required.

Toddler Lapsit
Thursdays beginning September 17th, 10:00 a.m.
Fifteen minutes of finger plays ,music and rhyme suitable for caregiver and child from 10 - 36 months. No registration required.

Preschool Stories
Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning September 8th,10:45 a.m.
Children ages 2-5 are welcome to join local child care groups for 15 minutes of fun with interactive felt board stories,old favourites and seasonal themes. No registration required.

Community Service Bursary
Students in the area going into Grade 11 or 12 in the fall are reminded that The Friends of Stratford Library is a registered non profit organization and accepts students working towards volunteer bursary hours. Contact your school and the library for information.

Stratford Library Book Sale
Continues during open hours in the book sale room with great finds including  mysteries, literature, and children’s books old and new.

October is Canadian Library Month
A Family Gaming Day is being planned to celebrate Your Library/Your World . Contact the library for more details.

Halloween Story Time
Saturday October 24th, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Children ages 3-8 are invited to join us for a 60 minute program of Halloween stories followed by a simple craft. Treats will be provided. No registration required.

Rug Hooking Display
Month of November during library hours.

Canadian Children’s Book Week
Thursday November 19th, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Preschool and school aged children are welcome to join us after school when Youth Services Librarian, Barb Kissick, will visit the library with sports related activities e.g. building towers with the book sale books or seeing who can lift the most books without dropping them. No registration is required.

Christmas Recipe Exchange
Thursday December 10th, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Bring a sample of your favourite Christmas baking and copies of the recipe to share with others.  Hot apple cider and Christmas music provided. No registration required and all ages are welcome.
