Mayor's Office
On behalf of Town Council and staff, I wish to welcome all residents and visitors to our Town web site. Council is committed to updating the web site on a regular basis and continuing the regular newsletters to all residents.
I would ask you to get involved in our Traffic Safety discussion. Input from residents during last fall's election campaign , together with complaints received on a regular basis, has clearly identified "speeding and pedestrian safety" as a major concern within Stratford. Please take a few minutes to read the information and participate in our online survey. We value your input on this and any other issue that may be of concern to you.
Volunteers are the backbone of many communities, and Stratford is no exception. The participation of volunteers in Town committees, community organizations and sports teams, are only a few ways in which residents provide positive contributions to the Town. Please consider volunteering in some way ... The rewards are worth it!
Finally, Council thanks residents for the confidence placed in us for the 2010-14 term of office and we take the challenge seriously and enthusiastically. Please let us know how you think we are doing!

Provincial grant programs to the Town of Stratford were replaced by a Comprehensive Urban Services Agreement (CUSA). During the Legislative Assembly session in the winter of 2008, the provincial government abandoned the tax credit system outlined in the CUSA and replaced it with a new municipal grant program. This significant change, in the view of the Capital Region Municipalities, has seriously constrained their ability to plan for and manage their communities and to provide their citizens with essential services. Please see the enclosed 'MacPherson Report' for details
