BUILD A BETTER HOME- Panel Discussion-Q & A

efficiency PEI and the Town of Stratford will host the second ‘Build a Better Home’: panel discussion and Q&A! This panel (a follow up to Build a Better Home – Charlottetown) will focusing on passive house design, sustainable subdivision design and how our homes can help us conserve energy, reduce our environmental impact and save money. This event will also provide an update on the Stratford Community Energy Plan.

 

Building energy efficient homes will allow Islanders to reduce their day-to-day energy consumption and be more efficient with the energy that is used, regardless of the heating source. Energy efficient homes cost less to operate and are a key factor in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and meeting the Provinces energy and climate change goals.

 

Build a Better Home: Stratford will take place on Monday, February 15th at 7 p.m. in the Southport Room at Stratford Town Hall. The panel of experts will include Andy Collier, Energy Program Officer at efficiencyPEI; Patrick Carroll, Director of Planning at The Town of Stratford; and Terry Perry, Passive House Contractor at Trout River Homes. The panel will focus on saving energy and minimizing environmental impacts through design, energy efficiency, and community planning.

 

All are welcome to attend but the panel discussion may be of special interest for contractors, people in the process of or considering building a new home, or those renovating/retrofitting an existing home.
