Trans Canada Trail

TCTThe Trans Canada Trail is being built in Stratford to connect the Hillsborough River Bridge with a trail completed through to Wood Islands.   The Trans Canada Trail is developed to a national standard and has proven to be popular in all seasons.

Nationally, the Trans Canada Trail has embraced the daunting task of completing the coast to coast to coast route by 2017.   It is approximately 73% complete and they will need to support development of 1500 km annually to reach completion.   Fund-raising is doing remarkably well with individual, corporate and government participation.   The Prince Edward Island portion is small with about 30 km. remaining but work is progressing on target for completion by the end of 2016.
