WATER WEEK IS HERE! May 16-22

The Town of Stratford and Stratford Area Watershed Improvement Group would like to welcome you to their annual Stratford Water Week, which runs from May 16-22, 2016!  Please read below for activities we are promoting/hosting during the week:

water schoolOur main event this year is Waters Cool!, our 5th annual water conservation and watershed education program. We teach 4 schools and hundreds of students about various aspects of the environment and ways to decrease water use in your home and garden. Grade 5 students are eager to attend this day-long trip to the town hall for Waters Cool!, and we look forward to teaching them throughout the course of the week.

We are opening up Waters Cool! to the public! Anyone who is interested in seeing what we teach the kids is welcome to attend on Thursday, May 19 between 6:30-8:30pm at the Stratford Town Hall (234 Shakespeare Drive, Stratford).  We offer a shortened version of our program, and all are welcome to attend. Please email Kelley at KArnold@townofstratford.ca or call 367-3605 to register. We have limited spaces available for the water conservation portion of the school (sorry, the watershed portion is filled!)!!  If you are interested in seeing what its ahead of time, please click here to watch our video!

UntitledOur toilet rebate program is back up and running! As part of our ongoing effort to build the best community possible, the Town of Stratford is committed to respecting the natural environment and conserving our valuable water resources for present and future generations. We are pleased to offer Stratford utility customers the opportunity to participate in a toilet rebate program on a first come, first served basis. The Town of Stratford is offering Utility Customers a rebate of $100 per toilet (up to a max. of 2 toilet rebates) per eligible property as an incentive to replace older, less efficient toilets with new ultra low-flow models. Please contact 569-1995 for details, or click here for details (please disregard the December, 2015 deadline).

Please use Water Week as an opportunity to start using less water in your home or business, and to fix those pesky leaks!
